Bad Credit Credit Cards

Bad credit credit cards aren't all bad, but there are better options.

Bad Credit Credit Cards

Bad credit? No worries. Rebuild it with bad credit credit cards.

Is This a Good Thing?

If you have bad credit, all hope is not lost. You can get loans with bad credit, cars with bad credit, even bad credit credit cards. Are there benefits? Yes and no. Yes, because in today's world, it's hard to function without a credit card. It seems like you need credit cards to rent cars, book hotel rooms, get airfare, and just to have in general for emergencies. It could be argued that if you have bad credit, you probably don't have a lot of money to be buying airfare, renting cars and renting hotel rooms. Good point. But chances are you will encounter unexpected car troubles, and there's always the unexpected need for a wedding or shower gift or some other instance that comes up. That's when it's a good idea to have a credit card.

The problem with bad credit loans or bad credit credit cards is that you aren't going to get a break on interest. Creditors consider you to be a bad risk for them, so the interest rates are generally high. It doesn't seem fair, either. Obviously you can't afford high rates. Fortunately, bad credit credit cards aren't your only option. You can get prepaid credit cards. These are very, very similar to debit cards. You have to pay an initial fee to set up the card, but you set the limit. If you have $1,000 and you want a $1,000 limit, simply mail a check for $1,000 in with your application. You won't ever have to worry about late fees because you've already paid, and over the limit fees won't exist because if you are buying something and there's not enough money left on your card, the purchase is simply declined. That's a great way to teach you how to use credit cards wisely while rebuilding your credit in the process. And they come in the form of MasterCard credit cards as well as Visa credit cards.
